Laura-Rose Thorogood

Laura-Rose is a married lesbian mother of four donor conceived children by IUI and IVF over twelve years. She is both a Bio and Non Biological mother and has lived experience of operative birth, failed cycles, miscarriage, secondary infertility and birth trauma.

She is an LGBT+, Maternity and Fertility Activist, educator, writer, seasoned speaker, and campaigner.

She is Founder of LGBT Mummies, supporting over 80,000 worldwide through guidance, community, support groups and events. Through Proud Foundations their educational arm, she lectures and trains midwives and healthcare professionals, educates and consults with organizations to be inclusive, and has worked with the University of Oxford on research and spoken at University of Cambridge and many others. She is often within Parliament meeting with and making recommendations to the Government, NHSE & DHSC and is regularly and passionately campaigns for law reform. She has multiple roles across NHSE, RCOG,UCL, HFEA, MMHA, MNVP, influencing change to create equity and equality for the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalised minority groups.

Event Moderator - Tracey Sainsbury, Fertility Counsellor

Tracey Sainsbury is a specialist fertility counsellor based in the UK, with over twenty-five years experience in providing support to people throughout and beyond their fertility journeys. In addition to her counselling practice, she is an Advisory Board Member of The Fertility Alliance and a respected trainer, where she imparts her extensive knowledge and expertise; a commitment to education and professional development promotes new generations of doctors and therapists being better equipped to support anyone experiencing fertility issues. Tracey co-authored the insightful and practical book, "Making Friends with your Fertility," alongside Sarah Rayner. The book has been well-received by patients and professionals for its compassionate and informative guidance, helping readers understand and navigate the fertility process with greater confidence and clarity.
